Children of War - sos-sgo

The Charity Fund “SOS. The Civil Defence Headquarters” continues to help internally displaced persons. The new project provides targeted assistance to children affected by military actions, children who need psychological and physical rehabilitation.

This process will take place in recreational areas, without breaking away from education, under the supervision of professional psychologists and educators. It is very important to create an atmosphere of security for children who have felt a threat to their lives for many months, which is a component of a happy childhood.

The aim of the project is the relocation of children from front-line settlements, their socialization and improvement of their psychological state through long-term living with their peers in safe and picturesque places of western Ukraine, as well as regular psychological trainings that prevent the development of post-traumatic stress disorder and complications in the future.

Project goals:

To help children cope with their traumatic experiences – children learn to use self-help methods, relaxation and rehabilitation therapy.
To help children socialize – children live and communicate with their peers, teachers, psychologists, instructors, etc. every day.
To help children improve their health – children have the opportunity to do sports, live according to the regime, eat right and spend a lot of time in the fresh air.
To help children not to stop studying at school – children have the opportunity to study with their usual teachers online, under the supervision of experienced educators, in specially equipped rooms.
To help children expand their horizons – children have the opportunity to attend various master classes and trainings, interesting excursions, etc.
To help children from the eastern regions get to know better the culture and traditions of western Ukraine and feel at home in the entire territory of Ukraine.

Regions involved in cooperation: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia. Today, in these areas there are the biggest problems with the conditions for a normal life and education of children.
