Half a year ago, we could hardly imagine what this would look like — or whether it would happen at all. And now, as we step into the New Year, we do so with confidence and with a new project — an exceptionally important one and completely new in its direction — “Syailyk,” a sensory integration center for children with autism spectrum disorders.
In the place where there once were gray, gloomy walls, coldness, and a lonely disco ball that somehow ended up in the reality of the “Podvirya” social and cultural center, there are now cozy, bright rooms filled with children’s voices, laughter, and sometimes — and this, too, is life and part of the work — tears.
“Syailyk” is a space equipped with everything necessary to make work with children as effective as possible. Only specialists and parents truly understand how important seemingly ordinary toys, balls, steps, and equipment are. These are the tools through which boys and girls learn to communicate with the world, explore it, and feel confident within it.
The video captures three months during which gray emptiness turned into a place where, every day, young boys and girls together with their specialists create small miracles — tiny steps that may go unnoticed by outsiders, but which mark the beginning of a great and happy journey.
