We invite you to step into the mysterious circle of trust — a ritual that marked the end of each day in the “Children of War” project for young and adult residents of Melitopol — 72 children and their teachers.
This was the final circle of the session: in the morning, the children were already heading off in groups to different cities across Ukraine. Organizing the safe transportation of so many children is a true challenge for the adults — but they have become skilled at it. And their efforts are not in vain — the children met again and spent time together: talking, walking, learning, playing. Face to face, not through a screen.
The farewell circle turned out warm, joyful, and a little bittersweet — but without partings, there can be no new meetings, right? Children and adults summed up their time together, shared their achievements, supported one another in new beginnings, and, of course, wished each other all the best — just as true friends do.
And that is exactly how we saw them — as friends, big and small, not merely teachers and students.
