Markivka, in the Luhansk region, was occupied on the first day of the full-scale invasion. However, the indomitable spirit of the community remains strong thanks to the Markivka village council and the military administration. They do the impossible – unite, support and help their people wherever they are.
It is thanks to their work that the boys and girls of Markivka were able to meet in Kamianets-Podilskyi as part of the “Children of War” project.
The children, who were friends before the war, now live in different cities of Ukraine and abroad. Most of them study at local schools, make new friends, grow, develop, and explore the world. But they always remember their home – Markivka as a cozy place with an interesting three-hundred-year history and the fondest and warmest memories.
Of course, we do not ask children about their experiences. We create moments of joy for them here and now. After all, these vivid impressions can become new warm and precious memories.
Together we can do more. And there will always be a place for home in our hearts. ❤️
The project “Children of War” is implemented by the charitable foundation “SOS Civil Defense Headquarters” thanks to a grant from the Children’s Resilience Fund: Providing Capacity Building and Funding to Ukrainian Civil Society Organizations in Ukraine. The program is implemented by @CrownAgentsinUA and @IntegrityAction.
