Each event organized for the children of the program was like a small adventure that made their childhood brighter.
Morning exercises charged the kids with energy for the whole day. And this energy found its way into swimming, excursions to Bakota, Khotyn Fortress, Maliivtsi, sports competitions, picnics, master classes… Evenings around the campfire with marshmallows and songs were the logical conclusion of active days. But even in the evening, after an eventful day, the children continued to burst with energy. Tireless, mischievous, funny, talented children. Children who had to live in wartime. Children to whom the team of the “Children of War” program returns a carefree childhood. After all, only happy children grow into happy adults.
We left out the sessions with psychologists and psychosocial support so that nothing in this video would remind you that the purpose of the children’s stay in the camp was psychological rehabilitation and treatment of the war-wounded souls of children from the frontline areas.
Summer activities were replaced by autumn ones. But they were no less interesting. After all, Kamyanets-Podilsky is beautiful at any time of the year.
The program “Children of War” is celebrating its third autumn. Almost 3000 children have participated in the program since its launch in September 2022. The team is ready to work as long as necessary. We have to ensure that as many children from the frontline and de-occupied territories as possible can undergo the rehabilitation and recovery program.
